FYI #11: Epoque's 'schließlich', Spring Collection 2011

For those who may not have heard, EPOQUE is close to releasing their new spring collection. I know, I know, terribly awful to be teasing you but, below is an extra little preview.

I love the sculpts in this collection, especially on many of the gowns. The one shown below is my absolute favourite. They all meld seamlessly to the body and display a serious knack for texturing.

Because I attended an in-world wedding today, which is always a delightful reason to frock up, I decided to slip into these beautiful garments. Sadly I could only wear one, so here's the opportunity to share them both (I went with the tux).

Décor #4: My Own Home! Pt. 4

Now for the final corner. Ironically, this was the first corner of my home that I began work on. This is abit bittersweet for me, as this skybox no longer stands. It has been my home since my return to SL and it also holds alot of dear memories for me.

It's what brought my closest friend Dailyn Holfe to me, after she answered a group chat call for rug testers. It wasn't long before she moved in and we became virtual hermits, venturing out only to shop and shoot (photos and zombies). It really became a place to welcome friends and loved ones.

So in closing this chapter and bidding adieu to my beloved first skybox, I present a lady's boudoir.

First off, let me just say that I had a lot of help from Vitt and, without her keen eye at picking out certain matches of clothing the way that fashionable women do, I would be left with only her amazing photography and patience to work with. Many thanks.

Now get back in the kitchen and make me that fucking sandwich.

Alright, down to business (which also happens to be the theme of my very first post). Bear with me; I'm male and by definition I will wear things because "I think it's awesome" not because I think it's fashionable. I spend a lot of time wearing suits in my day job outside of Second Life, so I figured I'd take a closer look at what's available inworld. I'm not just talking the standard "business suit" package you find on the Marketplace, but more a mix'n'match of items that come together into something that a guy would wear on the job in real life. With a bit of digging, I found a few key items that I think the average dude on the grid could totally buy off the Marketplace for a (relatively) decent price, look halfway decent for his more sensible half and be done with it all.

If spending thousands of Linden dollars a week qualifies a girl as the "more sensible half".

Dressed Down #29: Acute Acumen

To show that I well and truly am back in the saddle, (and also to catch up on some new releases and events), here is a marketed master post peppered with some fiscal acquisitions and endeavouring to drive up our virtual economy.

As you may or may not be aware, CULTURE SHOCK is the latest fashion/music event to hit the grid, offering up an array of new and exclusive content from no doubt, some of your favourite content creators. I was particularly tickled by MR POET's foray into accessories (Win). You still have a couple of weeks to brave the lag and pick up some treasures.

Also, MON TISSU has released their 'Ruffles and Lace' collection. Of course, it's amazing, particularly their new shorts. For those who aren't always satisfied with prim shorts attachments, you'll be happy to know that acting on customer feedback, the shorts come with non-prims layers as well as various prim attachment sizes. There's a funny thing about technology. It makes the inter-connection of different people and different ideas all across the world a modern day given. The world wide web and it's wealth of gadgets and gizmos fuel an insatiable drive toward consuming increasing amounts of information, ideas and Cheeto's.

It is also a bitch when things go wrong.

For the more perceptive of you, two things will have blipped your radar by now. Firstly, the person authoring this passive-aggressive blurb is probably not, in fact, your esteemed regular blogger, but someone I think is decidedly far better looking.

Fuck, she IS hotter.

I guess after a little while, Vittoria decided that, among all the monkeys in her technical department that takes care of her little corner of the web, I was perhaps the most outspoken ("Vitt, you're doing it wrong...oh my god, what did you just do to the site?!"). Oh, and the least shittily-dressed. Evidently, that's a 'thing' now. Vitt doesn't let unfortunately-robed people write on her blog; she's very clothest. "Hey, you should take a chance to write something" she suggested, placing her faith unwittingly in the hands of a monster. "It'll give you something to do."

Penis.

...muahaha...!

Secondly, you may notice that SLidioglossia.blogspot.com is now SLidioglossia.com. You don't need to update your bookmarks, because the transition will (hopefully) be seamless. For you anyway. For me, it took a solid four hours today to map all the changes and hosting to the new location. Fortunately, I'm a very well-balanced individual with numerous ways to alleviate my frustrations in soothing and therapeutic expressions.

No SLidioglossia webservers were hurt in the making of...okay, no. Yeah, I had to replace them a few times.

We hope you enjoy SLidioglossia.com; it was totally not a marketing ploy to increase our credibility and not at all related to making the goddamn web address shorter.

So, until the next time I take up Vitt's offer (challenge) of smearing my terrible terrible cynicism across the face of her brainchild, have a great rest of your week. I've told Vitt that she will have to post more articles now that she's joined the league of "dot coms", so with any luck and no small volume of Captain Morgan, you'll begin to see a bit more fashion and a tad more style lacing your weekly blog cocktails.

Dressed Down #25: Let There Be Leg

I have two words for you. PEQE. Exclusive.

Not something you come across everyday, exclusivity is quite the novelty in-world. And with various weekly events such as FIFTY LINDEN FRIDAYS, SUPER BARGAIN SATURDAYS, LAZY SUNDAYS (wow, as if we didn't love our weekends already!), etc, exclusivity can sometimes be granted through limited release.

Note it in your diaries. 50 OF A KIND is the latest fortnightly event to hit the SL calendar whereby, as the title would suggest, designers will release a limited edition creation of which only 50 will be available. With a relatively low key beginning, most of the offerings (both fashion and decor) were snatched up within a couple of hours. I managed to grab this little number from PEQE.

Be sure to man your battle stations kids, 'cause this one is gonna be a bloodbath.

Ugh. Do not ever go on holidays. It's been completely daunting since my return to SL, catching up on new releases, sorting inventory and trying to put together some catch up ensembles without just chucking everything out at once.

Dressed Down #23: DFO Did

For those of you who completely confused by the title (I'm gonna say, everybody?) - here down under we have an array of Direct Factory Outlets where the clothes stay fabulous but come cheaper.

In homage to that fair prayer, I offer up a modest ensemble that won't blow the bank. GATO is a new to me store and this dress is seven kinds of heaven. I love the quilted detail and decided to cinch it at the waist with this FLF release belt from MIEL. The clutch is by HOUSE OF FOX, available at CHIC LIMITED for not much longer for only 50L.

Décor #2: My Own Home! Pt. 2

Round 2. The dining area. This took a while, mostly 'cause I still aspire to have neat 'clutter' and I can't stand empty corners. I like my home to feel lived in and not quite so sterile, but still pretty.

The main feature of course is the Klee Dining Room set from Colleen Desmoulins' THE LOFT. This is one of the releases she had over Christmas and I lost a few of the holiday props, but still love the setting so much that when the making merry was over, it had to stay.

My second favourite item is the Nevsky Prospekt tea service from POST. A new to me store with loads of eclectic, beautifully textured items for your builds. It rates highly amongst my must see furnishing LMs.

So, who's up for a dinner party?

My small homage to THE supermodel in the world (I'm not biased at all) - Elle Macpherson as spotted by the Daily Mail a couple of days ago. I loved that this is what she wears to pick up her kids.

Point of interest, hot new boots from GOS. These are rather innovative for their scripted brilliance. There are three heel choices (Stiletto, Chunky & Wedge) and you can purchase different colour coats for a lesser price than the cost of the boots. Brilliance.

Décor #1: My Own Home!

Now, I don't just shop for clothes in SL - furniture and decor have a very special place in my heart. So when I'm not splurging my lindens on clothes, I'm usually house hunting or looking for knick knacks to add to the home I share with my dear friend Dailyn Holfe.

Thus, I present a short mini-series of posts based around the spaces in our home (just so this doesn't turn into a monster post). We live in one of my favourite prefabs of all time, the wonderful Port Eynon Skybox by Trace Osterham's THEOSOPHY. Whilst I love open plan builds, I did modify the skybox a tiny bit just to define the spaces a bit more (more of which you'll see in the posts to come).

Sorry I've been MIA lately, friends. I've been kind of... blah. Thankfully I have friends to distract me with shopping, gossip, movies... zombie massacres?

It's not uncommon for a group of us to get dolled up and go out and try some of the many activities available in-world. I wasn't going to blog this but my dear roomie Dai thought I should. So it's a little different, but I hope you all like it.

Some incredible new releases from THE ABYSS made me revisit this older edition of a complete avatar still available in-store. I paired with some ARMIDI shorts, KOOKIE boots and a pair of BRUTAL .357 magnums for a Lara Croft inspired ensemble.

Dressed Down #16: Reality Bytes

Hi5! for the cheesy pun? No? Ok. Moving on.

This is a rather simple ensemble but I was excited by the fact that it is pretty much identical to an outfit in my RL wardrobe. I was ecstatic to come by these shorts from the talented Kianna Noel of ADDICT. The design is modelled on a previous jeans release she did for LELUTKA. Never fear, dear readers, she will be releasing both items very soon.

This is about as heavy handed as I go with accessories, in order to dress up the look a bit more. The necklace by WHIPPET & BUCK is one of a number of cute re-releases from last year's Jewellery Fair.

So much newness my budget can't handle it. First up is this sculpty phenomenon from TRAM. I paired it with a cute dress from TINY BIRD that I've been dying to blog. Not to mention ELIKATIRA's adorable new hair release. And of course, my favourite boots of the moment from MIEL.

Sadly I'm too much of a DUTCH TOUCH skin devotee to change but ILLUSORY has released a new line of skins. I picked up the antlers. I'm sorry. Too much change scares me. But be sure to check it all out for yourself.

I've been itching for the new Lelutka releases for a while now and finally managed to snag some swag. I've paired down the military glam look for something a bit more traditional for the races.

Point of interest, MIEL's 'Lia' boots which are colour-changeable for a very reasonably price in my opinion. It's essentially a fatpack for cheap!

Finally, perhaps my favourite article in the ensemble... EPOQUE's fascinator. Flawless.

Soooo... guess what I got for Christmas? SYNDICATION, BABY! And so, to celebrate that and the coming New Year, I say we get totally FROCKED. UP!

I love doing cocktail. It's formal without going hard out, bad prom date. Today I'm going to give you two looks.

The first features a gorgeous little number from DOPPLEGANGER for the infamous One Eleven event (which is still on by the by - although I've no idea what is still available). The necklace is of course from PAPER COUTURE (can you tell I play favourites?) And finally a dash of class with some elbow length gloves from 5th & OXFORD.

The second ensemble is all about TEE*FY. I love this frock, especially the sequin detail in the skirt and the subtle shoulder detail. Plus how adorable is the TRAM fur stole? Christmas freebie for group members only (Go'on git it, gurl).

Showing alot of love for MILK MOTION lately, huh? I can't help it, Marie Lauridsen makes some incredible content. Plus I'm broke and having to rely on whatever's in my inventory, despite dying to splurge on new LELUTKA releases. Anyway, onward.

This is a summer inspired look, a vision of where I want to be and what I want to be doing - shopping in London on Portobello road. I was last there in August and my greatest purchase was nothing to do with fashion (although I did get some great stuff), rather I bought an 18th century edition of Robert Louis Stevenson's The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

And so, relying on little treasures, I hope you too are inspired to create a sensory ensemble out of your own inventory.

I love shopping. I do. So with my RL christmas shopping absolutely blitzed today in under 3 hours, I decided to take that energy and catch up on some new releases this week.

I love the phenomena of limited release groups, i.e. FIFTY LINDEN FRIDAYS, PROJECT THEMEORY and THE STUMBLEBUM BRIGRADE. Today's ensemble features the MILK MOTION releases for the latter. If you like it well made, cheap and fairly exclusive, I'd be checking out these groups.

Revisiting an old favourite, in homage to the famed Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour. ARMIDI pretty much makes up my staple of go-to basics, I am distressed that there will be no more new releases and that the designer's new venture is taking so long to come out, if at all. Anywho, this is my reinvented, Wintour 2.0.

I'd heard of Pixel Mode a while back (I even own a prefab) but I'd never really dabbled in their clothes and accessories, until my roomie Dai, introduced me to the glorious Baby T's *squeee!*

Dressed Down #7: Flared Blues

This is alittle bit 60's retro but I love the silhouette. Believe it or not, I started this ensemble with some of the latest releases from MAITREYA (Natalie hair and Moxie shoes). Not sure how I wound up with this as an end result, but there you go.

I love the textures of both IZUYAMI's cardigan and the woollen feel of R.ICIELLI's pants. I rarely get to indulge in winterwear this time of year, so SL is quite a nice escape from Sydney's heat and play fashion model. Expect more winter ensembles from me, this season!

Finally, another cute highlight are the nail colours from TRES BLAH. I'm not a huge fan of prim nails, especially fitting them and most nail glove layers simply annoy me as they seem to not cover the nail bed featured on most skins, but Juliette seems to have nailed this (get it? heh, heh...yeah-.-). The fatpack comes in cute pastels and some solid basics.

Autumn is probably my favourite season (which sucks 'cause in Australia right now, we're heading toward summer). Thus I can indulge in the new releases from LELUTKA today. Dressed Down #4: Moulin Rouge Massacre

Sorry it took so long to get this one up. Not alright. Don't worry, I'll make it up to you... cross my pierced heart.

Anyway, this was a costume to a 'Moulin Rouge with a Halloween twist', birthday party event... wow, that was a lot of words. So I put together this burlesque inspired outfit. I love the sugar skull make-up, inspired by the Spanish holiday of Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Despite the morbid overtones, perfectly suited to Halloween, this is not meant to be a spooky holiday but rather a day of remembrance for the loss of loved ones.

So, I present my fallen 'working girl'. Who will remember her?

Dressed Down #3: Rocking Paper Couture

I. Adore. Paper Couture.

...Seriously.

I salivate over every new collection. They're always innovative, gorgeously textured and make me part quite happily with a hefty amount of lindens. And don't worry, if you've missed their previous collections. They are all available for purchase here and here, at the Marketplace.

And yet, I rarely ever wear a complete PC ensemble... apart from their evening-wear (which is to die for, needless to say). I always end up taking bits and pieces to mix in with my wardrobe. This is just one example, I hope to blog another tomorrow. As the title suggests, this is Paper Couture meets Bohemian rockstar... however contradictory that may sound.

Accessories are not my strongest suit, however my favourite piece in this ensemble, is the fabric necklace that I tend to think of more as a scarf. It comes with a beautifully jewelled dragonfly for all the primmy princesses out there who love that sort of detail. Also, the box bangle from Stiletto Moody is available only to group members, so if you truly feel you can't go on without it, best join the flock!

This is one of my favourite outfits. I'm constantly wearing it whenever I'm feeling particularly girly... which is alot of the time, admittedly. Not only that, but the ensemble features some of my favourite designers, most notably, Whippet & Buck who create beautifully textured pieces that really tickle my... well, that's not for here.

Also newsworthy, is the fact that Elikapeka Tiramisu, former owner of hair store ETD, has rebranded and just opened her new store ELIKATIRA. You will find this hair as well as seven new releases in store now. I accessorised with a pin from MIEL, that I reattached in the hair and with some adjustment, found it sits quite well.

Anyway, I've been wearing alot of ARMIDI lately, in mourning I suppose. They've always been a staple in my modest collection and I find myself going back to them alot. Hopefully this blog will push me not to be so redundant!

So this is my ode to summer styling. You'll find that my taste is quite classic I suppose, and in this ensemble, I like the nautical stripe, belted and complimented by the high waist cut. Plus Kookie's Vo pumps are to die for and would make any lady's legs go on for days.

Well, hi there. Welcome.

My name is Vittoria Hancroft and I've recently returned to Second Life refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to kick it again. My forte in SL is shopping. And I dabble in machinima.

I often get complimented and queried about my outfits, so I thought it'd be a fun hobby to start up this little blog. I am by no means a prominent figure on the SL fashion scene, I have no connections whatsoever. This is just for fun and frankly, there are a lot more significant fashion blogs out there.
